Kelly Bado is a bilingual singer-songwriter who takes you on a beautiful journey with her songs. Kelly discovered her musical and artistic passions at a young age performing in local choirs in her native Ivory Coast.
Kelly ventured to Canada in December 2007, where her love of music continued to flourish. In early 2016, Kelly started to work with Chris Burke-Gaffney (who developped and managed Chantal Kreviazuk) recording few songs which led to being one of three artists chosen by Manitoba Music to journey to Los Angeles to showcase for a selected group of music industry heavyweights.
Los Angeles based Canadians, singer-songwriter-producer, Andy Stochansky, entertainment lawyer, Lisa Whynot, and grammy award winning songwriter producer, Brian West, fell immediately in love with Kelly’s soulful voice. They have spent the last year writing songs while Kelly continues to promote her EP, “Entre Deux”, for which she received 2 nominations at the 2017 Breakout West Awards: Francophone Artist of the Year and World Music Artist of the Year; and one nomination at the Canadian Folk Music Award. She prepares her new album to be released spring 2019.
With lyrics inspired by love, hope and social equality, and a sound that marries pop with R&B/Soul and her African background, one cannot help but get swept away into Kelly’s magical voice. She received the honor to perform in Ottawa, on Parliament Hill, as part of Canada’s 150th Celebrations along with well known artists like Alessia Cara, Serena Ryder, Walk Off the Earth and others. Although she finished The Voice in the quarter finales she won the public’s vote!
Kelly Bado est une auteure-compositrice bilingue qui vous fait voyager avec ses chansons. Kelly a découvert sa passion musicale et artistique à un jeune âge dans des chorales de son quartier en Côte d’Ivoire.
Kelly s’est aventurée au Canada en décembre 2007, où son amour de la musique a continué à s’épanouir. En 2016, Kelly a commencé à travailler avec Chris Burke-Gaffney (qui a été gérant de Chantal Kreviazuk) afin d’enregistrer quelques chansons qui lui ont permises d’être l’une des trois artistes choisis par Manitoba Music pour se rendre à Los Angeles Lors d’une vitrine musicale.
Trois canadiens professionnels de l’industrie basés à Los Angeles sont tombés immédiatement sous le charme de la voix soul de Kelly. Andy Stochansky, auteur-compositeur et réalisateur, Lisa Whynot, avocate dans le milieu des arts et du divertissement et l’auteur-compositeur réalisateur, Brian West, qui a obtenu plusieurs grammys. Ils ont consacré la dernière année à composer des chansons. En parallèle, Kelly prépare un nouvel album pour le printemps 2019 et continue de promouvoir son maxi-disque français “Entre Deux”, pour lequel elle a reçu 2 nominations à Breakout West 2017: Artiste francophone et artiste de musiques du monde de l’année et une nomination au Prix de Musique Folk Canadienne.
Avec des paroles inspirées par l’amour, l’espoir et l’égalité sociale, et un son qui marie la pop avec R & B / Soul et ses origines africaines, on ne peut qu’être séduit par la voix magique de Kelly. Elle a eu l’honneur de chanter sur la colline Parlementaire à Ottawa, dans le cadre des célébrations du 150e Canada avec des artistes de haut calibre comme Alessia Cara, Serena Ryder, Walk off the Earth, entre autres. Bien que Kelly ait terminé l’aventure de la VOIX-6 au Québec dans les quarts de final, elle est heureuse d’avoir gagné le vote du public en sortant.
