World Masters Ultimate Club Championship

Event Information

Event Schedule:

WMUCC will kick off on Sunday July 29th, 2018 at 5pm! Little Mountain Sportsplex (the home for WMUCC 2018) will welcome all participants, volunteers, guests and spectators for the Opening Ceremonies. There will be introductions, recognition of event sponsors and dignitaries, a ground blessing ceremony and hoop dance (showcasing the indigenous roots of the city) followed by a feature game between the WMUCC guest team and an all-star team.



Monday July 30th through Wednesday August 1st will see round robin play over three time slots each day (early am, late am and afternoon). Following the afternoon game will be dinner service and entertainment will get going at the beer gardens. At 7pm each night the 3,000 person arena will open for a feature game which will be webcast world wide.

Thursday August 2nd will be a similar schedule and will follow the same format. However Thursday will see the end of round robin tournament play and the beginning of playoffs and working towards finalists for the world championships. Thursday will also be the trading night for the event.

Friday August 3rd will have similar time frames for games, however all games played on the 3rd will be playoff games. The feature game that night will be the Grand Master Division - World Championship Final and there will also be a live rock concert for all athletes and guests to close out the evening and festivities.

Saturday August 4th will see all finals finished as the tournament moves venues to Investors Group Field. This 30,000 capacity football stadium will come to life for the Men's, Women's and Coed World Championship finals throughout the day. Closing ceremonies will begin close to 6pm where the world championship trophies and medals will be handed out to the 4-5 division champions as well as ALL-STAR prizing and Spirit Award winners for each division. Following the closing ceremonies, shuttle service will be in play to take all guests back to their hotels or the WMUCC Party and Live Concert.

Countries

Ultimate is a truly international game! While there will be strong representation from Canada and the USA, WMUCC will be attended from teams around the world including the continents of South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Festival Area - The festival area at WMUCC will be the hub for all athletes and guests. From the feature games, to daily and nightly entertainment, merchandise shops and food service, this is the place to be!

  • Arena - The WMUCC arena holds seating for 3,000 people, hosts our resident DJ, the VIP tents and cameras for nightly tapings. The feature field will be home to key match-ups nightly and on Friday August 3rd, the Grand Masters Finals.

  • Food & Beverage - Athletes and guests coming to WMUCC will have lots of options to stay well fed while keeping your taste buds happy! Athletes can sign up for the meal plan covering their breakfast and lunch each day, this comprehensive option takes care of you big meals and makes sure you can concentrate on competition. In addition to the meal plan, there will be Food Truck Alley where everyone can find a minimum of 7 food trucks each day offering a variety of cuisine (cash only). Lastly, the clubhouse at Little Mountain will be offering healthy options indoors and BBQ foods outside at their picnic area. There are options for all allergies, gluten intolerance's, and special needs.

  • Athlete Zone - This a converted outdoor hockey arena where athletes from around the world can come together and play disc games, relax in the shade, enjoy free WIFI or charging stations for the tablets and phones. There will be cash machines on site for those needing money for food or beverages and some great music to help you relax away from the intense competition.

  • Beer Garden and Stage - Although the music and beer garden will open every morning at 11am, the real party begins after dinner service as we start with the feature game. From there join us for beer and whiskey tasting events, a cash prize karaoke competition, trading night, live nightly concerts and dj's and Friday night a concert everyone will remember!


Athlete Information

  • Host Hotels - The leader in Manitoba hospitality is CanadInns and Radisson Winnipeg, the host hotels for WMUCC 2018. Room rates have been set at $140 CDN/ $108 USD for a room with 2 queens at all facilities. 

  • Shuttle Service - The shuttles will from from the host hotels to the fields and festival area non stop from early in the morning until 1am each night. Make sure you mention you are part of WMUCC when booking your hotel room, only registered athletes at host hotels will have access to the free shuttle service.

  • Meal Plan - The meal plan will have a breakfast option for $10 USD and a dinner option for $20 USD. Athletes and their families/guess can sign up for the meal plan and choose to take all meals or specific meals on specific days. All food will be catered by one of the top culinary programs in Canada and offer a diverse and changing menu daily.

  • Registration - Registration will open on January 1st, 2018. Team fees have been set at $1000 USD per team and Athlete fees have been set at $210 USD per player.

  • WMUCC Tickets - Tickets will be available to purchase leading up to the event and at the entrance to Little Mountain Sportsplex during the event. Cost of tickets will range from $10 USD per day, to $50 USD for an event pass and $25 USD for the Saturday Finals.

  • Daycare (Kids -8) - This is a Masters Championship and that means many athletes will have to choose between leaving their kids at home or bringing them along for the tournament... We want everyone to stay together and share in the magic of a World Championships. While the parents play on the field, the kids can play with our safetied and registered child care providers and have their own fun off the fields!

  • Day Camp (Kids 9+) - For those family members a looking to stay active and engage at a higher level than the daycare, WMUCC will offer a summer day camp from Monday to Thursday at Little Mountain Sportsplex. This camp is geared towards introducing athletes to new friends from around the world, learning about spirit of the game and ultimate and playing and learning about other sports and team games.
