Introduction
You have applied to join the team that will deliver the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2018 World Masters Ultimate Club Championships (WMUCC)- one of the largest world championships ever hosted in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Canada!
 
The Volunteer Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines that promotes and supports ethical behaviour and decision-making for all the volunteers of the WMUCC .
 
Our mission, vision and values along with the conduct standards and related policies that will be expected of all volunteers are outlined in this document. As you start your journey to become a volunteer with WMUCC, please read this document carefully and familiarize yourself with its contents to ensure that you are comfortable committing to them.

Volunteer Code of Conduct
Volunteers will be the face of WMUCC, so we are seeking individuals who are friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable, easily accessible and service-oriented. As integral members of the WMUCC workforce, volunteers will be expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, while following the Volunteer Code of Conduct and upholding the core values of the Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC).
 
What volunteers will be able to expect from the WMUCC TOC:
● to have a safe, supportive and healthy environment
● to be treated respectfully, fairly and equitably as part of the team
● to have access to information about the event, its history, policies and purpose
● to receive reasonable allowance for any special restrictions
● to know that their personal information will be kept confidential and used only for the purposes specified to through the application process
● to receive a volunteer assignment that engages their skills, interests and experience
● to receive guidance and training for their specific role
● to receive ongoing guidance, feedback, encouragement and recognition from the TOC, staff and planning leadership volunteers
 
Host Society expects that all volunteers will;
● approach their volunteer role with enthusiasm, honesty and an open mind
● maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude
● treat others with respect, courtesy, fairness and sensitivity
● exercise sound judgment in decision-making and maintain confidentiality
● ask questions to ensure that they understand a role/task before accepting it
● carry out their role efficiently, effectively and to the best of their abilities, asking for help when needed
● represent WFDF and the TOC in a professional manner at all times
● participate in the training offered by WMUCC to become familiar with the event and all duties
● ensure the WMUCC venue is safe and to work and act in a safe manner at all times
● refrain from speaking publicly on behalf of the TOC, WFDF or WMUCC without prior authorization
● not express any negative comments or perspectives about the event while on duty, in uniform or while volunteering
● follow all policies and standards and comply with all relevant provincial and federal laws
● not be under the influence of, or affected by, illegal drugs, controlled substances or alcohol during volunteer shifts, nor smoke on site or while in uniform
● promptly report any potential, perceived or actual wrongdoings and violations of the Code of Conduct
● provide positive or constructive feedback to their direct report(s) as applicable
● notify their supervisor, Venue Volunteer Services representative, or Volunteer Services staff as soon as possible if they are no longer able to volunteer with the organization and/or scheduled shifts
● be available to volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours throughout the event period from Sunday July 29th through to Saturday August 4th, 2018
● present themselves at a volunteer shift in their uniform and to not make personal modifications to the uniform
● adhere to the conditions of the Volunteer Commitment, Consent and Waiver Form
 
Policies
 
Confidentiality
During your time with the Tournament Organizing Committee, volunteers will acquire information about matters that are confidential to the TOC. This information is the exclusive property of WFDF and the TOC, and includes, without limitation, service contracts, sponsorship agreements, employee and volunteer information, financial data and other corporate information.
 
Volunteers will agree to not divulge or disclose, directly or indirectly, any confidential information during their time with the Host Society or at any time following the end of their term. In addition, confidential information must not be used, to any end, for the volunteer's benefit or for the benefit of others without the specific and written authorization of the TOC or WFDF.
 
Volunteers will be responsible for safeguarding confidential information in their custody and, in particular for protecting it against theft, loss, unauthorized access, unauthorized destruction or misuse. If a volunteer is unsure whether or not something constitutes confidential information, they should consult their supervisor for guidance.
 
Conflict of Interest
Every volunteer will need to avoid situations where a personal interest may influence, or appear to influence, the objective exercise of their authority or result in an advantage or gain by virtue of their role with the TOC. When a volunteer is, or believes they may be, in a position of conflict with regards to the event, WFDF or TOC, they can seek clarification by sending an email to wmuccvolunteers@mods.mb.ca. The volunteer must refrain from exercising their authorities related to the conflict until they receive authorization.
 
Volunteers must, as examples:
● not place themselves in a position where they are under an obligation to favour an individual or firm by accepting gifts and/or benefits from outside sources.
● refrain from using WFDF, TOC or event property, equipment, supplies or services for activities not associated with the discharge of official duties. Volunteers should not use any property, equipment, supplies or services for personal gain.
● adhere to Host Society policies regarding any financial transaction. It may be seen as a conflict of interest when a volunteer is in a position where they could derive any direct or indirect benefits or interest from any TOC contract or business. Disposal of TOC property, assets or services shall be in compliance with the TOC purchasing policy. At no time shall this benefit any individual volunteer or group of volunteers.
